FAQ

Who is the Wolfram Neural Networks Boot Camp for?

Anyone who wants to learn about deep learning—at any stage of their career or education.

What do I need in order to participate?

You’ll need a computer running the latest version of Wolfram Language, a reliable internet connection and the willingness to explore. A 30-day license to Wolfram|One will be provided upon request. Due to the online nature of this boot camp, please allow sufficient time to set up and test your webcam, audio settings and internet connection ahead of the start time. Watch your email inbox for your join links.

How much programming do I need to know before the boot camp?

Wolfram Language makes it easy for anyone to do high-level programming, and the model repository includes a collection of pre-trained networks, so you can get started right away. We will spend time introducing the Wolfram technology stack at the start of the boot camp, and tech mentors will be available to provide hands-on help for getting started, as needed. If you have experience with Wolfram Language, you’ll be at an advantage.

What math should I know for this boot camp?

Neural networks use concepts from calculus, linear algebra, statistics and probability theory. Some helpful resources are available at Wolfram U.

What will I come away with from the boot camp?

In addition to hands-on knowledge of neural networks, you’ll know how to use trained and untrained models from the Wolfram Neural Net Repository and how to build and train your own models. Participants receive a certificate of boot camp completion, and those who demonstrate proficiency with boot camp coding exercises will be awarded Level 1 certification in neural networks. Participants who demonstrate applied expertise in completing a neural net project will earn Level 2 certification certification.

What is a Level 2 neural network project?

Everyone at the boot camp is encouraged to solve problems and answer questions by modifying and constructing neural networks, and participants have opportunities to work on exercises and get feedback on project work throughout the two-week boot camp. A Level 2 project involves communicating the results of your neural net analysis in an appealing and informative manner. Level 2 certifications have been earned in a variety of areas. Examples of successful projects include a rapid prediction of protein motion, efficient feature extraction of microscopy images, a recommendation and connection engine for arXiv papers and the creation of a physics-informed neural network.

Can I bring proprietary data to the boot camp?

To optimize the peer learning experience, we suggest that data used during the boot camp be something that can be shared with other attendees. However, special arrangements can be made, and our instructors will be operating under our standard corporate NDA.

How does the boot camp compare to other Wolfram educational programs?

The various Wolfram Summer School and Winter School programs are selective application-based programs for students who want to carry out original projects using Wolfram methodologies and contribute to ongoing research. The Neural Networks Boot Camp is a self-selecting program that promotes individual professional development in the area of neural nets.

What if I need to miss a lecture?

The boot camp features a carefully curated collection of lectures, hands-on explorations and other special presentations to enhance learning. Many sessions are interactive by nature and must be attended in order to benefit. We understand that it might be unavoidable to miss a session at some point during the boot camp. Recordings of lectures will be made available, with the expectation that participants will catch up by watching any missed sessions.

Where will the boot camp take place?

The boot camp will be held online.

What is the registration deadline?

The registration deadline is December 22, 2025.

What is the cancellation policy?

A full refund will be given for a cancellation made by December 29, 2025.

Where can I send questions about the boot camp?

Contact the Wolfram U team at [email protected].
