Speaking test

Part 1 (Interview)

– Where do you live?
– How long have you been living there?
– What do you like most about your neighbourhood?
– Are there any changes you would like to make to where you live?
– Do you often borrow things from other people?
– What kinds of things do you usually borrow (for example, books, money, or household items)?
– Do you feel comfortable lending your belongings to others?
– Have you ever borrowed something and forgotten to return it?
– Do you think borrowing is more common now than in the past?

Part 2 (Cue Card)

Describe the first time you used a foreign language. You should say:

– when and where it happened
– who you were with
– what you said or did

and explain how you felt about using the language.

Part 3 (Discussion)

– Why is learning a foreign language important?
– What benefits does knowing a foreign language bring?
– Are there any disadvantages to learning foreign languages?
– Do you personally enjoy learning foreign languages?
– Do you think speaking a foreign language is easier than reading it? Why or why not?
– How has globalisation affected people’s motivation to learn other languages?
