December is one of my absolute favorite months in the classroom! I love creating a special holiday feeling for my students by hanging decorations around the room, reading holiday stories, and creating special projects throughout the month. All About Visual Crafts
Every Visual Craft bundle comes with four projects. The holiday projects in the December pack include:

Each craft has step-by-step visual instructions, a cut-and-paste sentence, materials checklists, a craft sequencing activity, and a review survey. So, in addition to the creative and fine motor work students will do with the craft, they will also work on writing, sequencing, and self-monitoring skills!
Creating Crafts for the Holidays
Crafting is such a special part of the December holidays. I still have ornaments I made at school when I was a kid! Your students’ families will treasure the items that they make.
Visual crafts are so easy to implement. Almost all of the materials are things you will already have in your classroom! The included materials list will help you find anything extra that you need.
The visual directions help students (and you!) know exactly what to do to complete the project. The real pictures on the directions make the steps nice and clear. Tip: After printing colored versions of the directions, laminate the copies so you can reuse them with different groups or from year to year!
I love adding the sentence to each craft we create! This is a great way to sneak some academics into these activities. Each sentence has different response options for different student levels.

Building Independence in the Classroom
One of the best things about these visual crafts is that they encourage student independence! Visual crafts give students the ability to complete projects with less prompting. As students learn to follow the visual directions on their own, they will build independence and sequencing skills that will carry over into other activities in the classroom!
Additionally, these crafts are easy to differentiate for student needs! For example, you can offer adapted tools such as loop scissors or flip crayons. Also, the sentences that go with each craft can be completed with different response choices such as independent writing, tracing, or visual pictures. Offering student choices promotes greater independence!
