The October 20, 2025 GEG Instructional Coaches meeting brought together educators from around the globe to explore the exciting new AI capabilities in Google Classroom and discuss how instructional coaches can leverage these tools to support both teachers and students.

What’s New: AI-Powered Features in Google Classroom

Google has introduced powerful new AI features in Classroom that are changing the game for educators:

• Practice Sets with AI-generated questions: Teachers can now quickly create adaptive practice activities that provide personalized feedback to students
• Quiz Import from PDFs and Docs: Transform existing materials into interactive assessments with just a few clicks
• Class Summary feature: Get instant insights into student progress and identify where learners need additional support

These features are now available for Google Workspace for Education Plus users with Gemini add-ons.

Gemini for Teens: Expanding AI Access Responsibly

A major announcement discussed at the meeting was Google’s rollout of Gemini access for students ages 13-17 in Workspace for Education accounts. This represents a significant shift in how AI can be integrated into educational settings while maintaining appropriate safeguards.
