The Next Evolution of Grammarly and a Bigger Vision for AI in Education

For years, AI has been transforming how we work, learn, and communicate, but in education, it hasn’t always felt like it fits. The technology is powerful, yet it often exists outside the core learning experience, disconnected from the tools and workflows that students and educators rely on every day.

At Grammarly, we’ve always believed AI should do more than generate text. It should enhance learning, support academic integrity, and strengthen the connection between thinking and writing. For more than 16 years, we’ve been proud to be the trusted AI partner for education, bringing intelligent support directly into the writing process wherever students and educators work.

Today, we’re excited to announce that we’re building on Grammarly’s legacy of helping learners improve their writing, and extending access to a wide range of academic support with our trusted, inline recommendations. As we expand our offering, we’re changing our company name to reflect our promise to empower people to do their best work, and be their best selves. Grammarly is now part of Superhuman.

Two major evolutions that tailor the value of AI for education

Today, we are announcing our new AI assistant, Superhuman Go. Go is an always-on AI assistant that works in every tab and tool, providing inline suggestions from a team of AI agents. Those agents can connect your most important tools or be custom-built agents deployed by your institution.

Go builds on Grammarly’s ubiquity and goes beyond grammar suggestions to create a single interface for students and staff to engage with all your institution’s approved AI and tools, wherever they do their work. For students, this means they no longer need to hop to a chatbot that sits outside of their workflows. For institutions, this means you can get more value out of your entire tech stack, with Go surfacing your most important apps when and where they offer the best support.

In addition to our new AI assistant, we have also completely rebuilt Docs, our AI-native writing surface. Docs combines AI chat and agents to give students and staff the real-time guidance and context they need when and where they are writing. Instead of writing in isolation, students can leverage a team of agent collaborators that help them elevate their thinking, research quality, and argumentation, all in a student-friendly way that eliminates unhelpful friction without outsourcing ideas completely to AI.

While these new capabilities are exciting, the bigger vision starts with you, and how you will use these new capabilities to customize AI to support your institution’s unique student population, approach to academic integrity, and pedagogy.

The future of AI in education isn’t about more AI; it’s about greater ownership of your AI. With this new platform, schools can deploy the AI they approve through Grammarly’s hallmark ubiquity and even build and share their own custom AI agents through the same intuitive interface students already know and love.

Building the future in partnership with educators

To bring this vision to life, we’re working hand in hand with our education partners to ensure what we build truly serves the needs of students, faculty, and institutions.

Together, we’re exploring how AI can enhance learning, empower instructors, streamline operations, and bring greater transparency to student authorship.

Our early partners are already testing custom-built AI agents that connect course-specific feedback directly into the writing process, creating more meaningful, context-aware support for learners.

By collaborating closely with educators, we’re ensuring Grammarly’s next evolution reflects the realities of today’s classrooms and the aspirations of tomorrow’s institutions.

Together, we’re redefining what it means to teach and learn in the age of AI.

Innovation grounded in real outcomes across learning environments

The evolution we are announcing today builds on Grammarly’s belief that AI in education shouldn’t be one-size-fits-all. With guidance from our over 3,000 educational customers from K–12 to R1 universities, we know that every school defines success differently. That’s why our future will be built around flexible AI solutions that drive the learning outcomes that matter most to you.

The institutions we partner with have consistently shown real results.

With Superhuman Go, institutions won’t just adopt AI; they get to tailor it to their goals. Through Grammarly’s deep integrations, your mission-aligned agents and tools can live inside the systems your students and staff already use to drive real, measurable impact across learning and operations.

We look forward to partnering with you to build and deploy AI that fits your institution’s goals, students, and ways of operating.
