Many IELTS candidates believe that the only way to score highly for grammar in the Writing test is by filling their essays with long, complex sentences.

They often focus heavily on adverbial clauses such as:

  • I stayed at home because it was raining.
  • Although technology has many benefits, it also creates problems.
  • People work hard so that they can provide for their families.

While these sentences are useful, they are only one kind of complex structure. Relying on them alone will not be enough to achieve Band 7 or higher for Grammatical Range and Accuracy.

The truth is, IELTS examiners are looking for a variety of complex structures in your writing – not just adverbial clauses.

That’s exactly what this video lesson will show you. Instead of struggling to write overly long sentences, you’ll learn how to use a wider range of complex structures for IELTS writing in a simple, effective way. By the end, you’ll understand what examiners really want to see – and how you can use these structures to boost your IELTS Writing score.

👉 Watch the video now and discover how to move beyond basic complex sentences and take your grammar to the next level.
